Speaking of Brahms...I'm probably going to regret following someone who must be good at these intermezzi(?), but I have been working on this again with my teacher who has been trying to free me from tension and stiffness and pay more attention to phrases. I know I still have a lot of work to do in these areas, but now I really hate my first recording of this piece and am very embarrassed about it and would like to switch it with this one. Chris or Robert, I will pay you whatever you want if you can do it very soon.

Ok, I have replaced it. Sounds pretty good. Can't remember the previous one but this is probably much better.

Not too dry, not too schmaltzy. Very nice.

Some might say this intermezzo is overplayed. Perhaps it is but I NEVER tire of hearing it. You play so well. This in particular is warm and contemplative yet muscular as Brahms needs to be. Thanks for sharing!! Bring on more Brahms, I can never get enough of him.

Jeff.

Thanks for this very well-played rendition of the Brahms intermezzo. To me it seemed a little draggy and controlled at first, but as you went on you got better and better. Overall it was a very sensitive, expressive performance.

Thank you, John.
I'm always nervous when I hit the record button. My fingers literally shake right when I begin a piece. I guess the uneasiness comes out in my recordings too.

It is however still not listed in the Brahms - Intermezzi section?
I liked to listen to it again today (because it sounds sooo good), and found it not there (only here).

It's a bit confusing, but this Intermezzo is part of the Klavierstucke section, and it is listed there. Perhaps the Op.117 Intermezzi should have gone there as well, but that set is callually called Drei Intermezzi so I decided on a separate page for them.
