A Further Assessment on Acoustic Piano Recording

Postby bring18 » Thu Dec 12, 2013 8:22 am

We have been doing further trials in home recording of my acoustic piano, and would appreciate it if you had a listen to a further recording of the Bach 1 Prelude in full, and we look forward to your comments.

I was not in on the original conversation, but this one also sounds a little "under water" - either too much pedal or too much reverb, I would guess. I use the H2 myself, so I don't think it's the mic.

If you're not putting reverb in, you could either move the mic a little farther away, or don't always push the sustain pedal all the way down - there are levels of pedaling. Or perhaps just pedal a little more often?

The piano sounds good, though.
