very nice, I don't know the piece until now,

What I don't like that much is the sound of the piano...

And here we got the third fragment which indeed is not easier than any of its precursors and again, you play it wonderfully, with fury and passion. In the opposite to Rubinstein (to who these fragments were composed on the request of Rubinstein), you actually manage to record all three!

The polyrhythmic double-note passages are absolute killers, as are the furiously stamping wide leaps with both hand simultaneously. This is the sort of repertoire that separates the men from the boys, every bit as hard as the Islamey and Gaspard - and then some.

Rubinstein recorded none of these AFAIK, but he performed the set live on may occasions. I would suspect his performances may have been as good as these ones.

Hats off for anyone breezing through this killer of a piece, even if there's some signs of strain here and there, it doesn't matter. A great achievement, and a unique contribution to the site which is not likely to be equalled any time soon. Yet, with all respect for the enormous technical skill and panache, I found it a bit matter-of-factly and lightweight, and would have wished for some more weight and drama.

Interesting you take the LH ossia in the last-but-one page (sounds very good) and I think you play an alternate version of the last few bars ? Did S. revise this piece like he did the entire ballet in 1947 ? Actually this sounds better that what's written in the 1922 score.

What is a bit of a let down is the closing chord being cut off before it has properly sounded. A little mouse accident, I guess. Perhaps in a later remastering, when you have better Internet, this can be corrected ?
