Some more re-recordings made today of Bach manualiter chorales. These replace my old wonky versions from 2005 to 2007.

I cannot recall your previous recordings but these new are extremely good.

Thanks Eddy and Robert. I did take utmost care to get everything just right here, registration, phrasing and articulation. I even allowed myself a little accelerando towards the end of BWV 666, something I've never done before in Bach. The absence of pedal makes things much easier of course - though these manualiter pieces are still far from simple.

These are great short Chorales. The organ sounds like it's in a nice mid-sized church. The gain on the BWV 666 was higher than the rest. Perhaps the high BWV number, a later Bach, gives poetic justice to accelerate? I don't know about the first recordings, but from a fidelity standpoint, you should be content that they won't sound outdated anytime soon. Very nice little gems!

George, I think you're right about BVW 666. It's louder than it should be. I suspect I've amplified it with 6 Db rather than the usual 3 Db.
I've corrected it and re-uploaded, does it sound ok now, compared to other recent organ recordings ?

Yes, I think I can be happy with these for a long time. Unless I find a much better organ and want to start all over once more...

I had a listen to these recordings. Good playing, I enjoyed the way the voices seemed to blend together. The tone of the organ for the first two and the fourth sounded light and airy like an inverse sine wave, a nice change from the tone of the third recording which sounded like a pipe organ. I thought I heard pedal in the Leipziger Chorale, so I take it just the Clavier Ubung III recordings are manualiter pieces?

Thanks Riley ! I tried to apply some varying registrations so that these would not sound all the same. Though I fear my organ recordings do have a certain
sameness in that respect, the organ just does not have enough registers to make sufficient variety. It's a nice sounding instrument all the same.
These 4 are all manualiter pieces, only BWV 666 introduces a single lone pedal point for the coda.
