Oh, I'm shocked! Guess I was way off - he did write a lot of piano music!! Ok, I learned some new things today. :)

And I am most happy to read that he wrote some miniatures for 'small hands'. Wow, that is so nice!! :D

I refuse to believe you do not know the Concierto di Aranjuez.

I have no problem with empty spaces: my problem is finding as little as seven!

It is odd that people are always pictured towards the end of their lives: look at Brahms or Tchaikovsky. Yet they were once young and sometimes, as in the case of Rodrigo, that was when they were writing their masterpieces. When writing an article about composers who went to Italy I deliberately chose a picture of a young Tchaikovsky:

Rodrigo wrote masterpieces until ripe old age. But you're right, we should show different faces of composers. So it's nice that we now change the banner often. Or rather, Monica does.

If I'm still here in 30 years, can we just keep up my current photo, please.... :)

I'm going to try to find that 'Concierto di Aranjuez' on Youtube and listen to it when I'm lunch. Maybe I have heard it but didn't know the name.

We could use one of you when you are 250.

Months I mean. :P

You are special. There possibly is no one else alive who does not know that concerto. You will figure that out when you see the wealth of recordings out there.

I was of course referring to the works for which he is best known and which are masterpieces. I suppose we could say the same about Stravinsky and we will both be right.

I'm listening to it now - I do recognize the 2nd movement. It's so pretty!

250 months is too young...
