I thought I had asked for help getting info on this composer before, but my search through my former posts revealed nothing. All I know on this composer is that he flourished c. 1860. Any help highly appreciated, especially from non-English sources.

Nothing in 3rd edition of Grove's. Can anyone check in a 1st or 2nd edition? Can anyone check in German reference(s)?

Edit: added more specific requests

Google suggests born Silesia, Poland 1823, lived in England c. 1860; http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/t ... 1181423733 might be of interest.
Additionally this score below is on the Henselt Library via Scorser.

I don't know if that's any use to you.

Thanks Andrew, I have seen this already but am hoping for something more authoratative than a personal e-mail by a claimed descendent. The suggested date sounds plausible. I am aware of the score you attached, but be warned that it is not the original version of the work, rather a transposed and simplified version by William Smallwood.

I thought it might be a simplified score. I used to have access to quite a few, c. 100 year old, scores like that, which would be printed in cheap popular sheet music versions; I remember a 2nd Hungarian Rhapsody friska in C major! It might be worth your while to try enquiring on pianophilia, if you haven't already done so (I assume it's still going).
