Is this not one of the ugliest pianos you have ever seen? It looks to me like the piano might gobble you up if you sit there.

It is indeed the most obnoxious and atrocious looking thing. Straight out of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory.

I love it. And just imagine you can play as poorly as you want, or need to, because no one will notice. They will be too busy gawking at the piano.

Actually it likes the head of one of those Chinese masks or of a Chinese dragon.

It looks like what Alice might see in Wonderland.

That is truly amazing! I can't begin to imagine what it must sound like. Why did you buy it?

No way would I sit at that piano. I still think it looks like a monster.

I didn't!  That's so funny, Alexander. Where did you get that idea?

Okay...we have a regular plain boxy upright piano mistakenly sent to Wonka's chocolate factory - Willy covered the piano with chocolate and then forwarded it to Wonderland where someone slipped it some bad acid. Alice got a hold of a large Chinese mask, put it on the piano, and the piano becomes the monster piano. :P

You guys are making me crave some chocolate. There happens to be a bowl of Hershey kisses sitting about five feet away from me right now - may have to indulge. Breakfast!

Yuck, I don't like that one either. Looks like it's made of plastic and looks too cold.

It wouldn't be so bad if the brushed aluminum legs were repeated on the back side instead of that big black thing (which would maybe help direct sound out from the underside of soundboard.

Just saw this on Ebay. Not an ugly piano at all, but according to the description, "the item may have some signs of cosmetic wear..."

Maybe that's because the piano is outside...duh!!

Cripes, looks like a piece of dental equipment. The bench looks ready to swallow you up any moment.

My manners prevent me from telling you what I thnk it looks like.

Only new management would allow such distinguished names as Shimmel and Bosendorfer to make such ... "instruments."

It makes me feel the exact same way as when I first learned Porshe was making an SUV. WHAT!

It does sort of look like a tooth. Eddy, does your unmentionable item vibrate perhaps? No....don't tell me...I'm too delicate!
But I would not turn down a Porshe SUV if someone wanted to give me one. Wonder if Porshe has designed a grand piano like Audi did (another ugly piano a few posts up from here)?

Looks are most definitely a concern! Anyone playing this horribly ugly piano would look like a fool and not be taken seriously. However, the other way around - ugly person playing nice-looking piano - is just fine!

Ah, a pedal piano. Schumann wrote some music for one. It is actually a similar configuration to a pedal harpsichor.

It's not really 'ugly', but I'm not sure I could play this piano. I think it would give me a headache. Or maybe want to play lots of jungle music...

To play any serious music on this "zebra" would be a crime! I'm ashamed it's a Baldwin. :(

57, actually. And it's a damn hard piece by the novelty composer Lothar Perl. I was working on 3 or 4 pieces by him but got distracted as usual.

That's pretty neat - a Lego piano. I like it too. I'm going to try to find where I can buy one. I used to play with Legos with my kids all the time when they were little.

I don't like that piano at all, so yes it's an ugly piano. Pigs are not cute, and they smell bad.

@Rainer - good one!

I like pigs -- in a blanket, as a nice roast, ham sandwich.
