Two re-recordings, these replace my feeble-sounding early recordings from 2005 (doesn't time fly......)
My book has BWV 905 marked 'Doubtful' so maybe it's not by JSB. Not a P&F on a par with the WTC, but worth doing.

One sad thing about your recordings being (always) almost flawless is that nobody ever dares to criticize your work
I'm not quite yet extremely familiar with Bach's work (I don't think I had ever listened to any of these two pieces before), but to my ears both sound quite great !

As the "Bach expert" here, which pieces who you advise me to listen to first ?

Thanks for that Henri. these may not be vintage Bach, but they're very good all the same. Especially the BWV 904 with its three different themes is really ingenious.

All of them. Well, the B minor Mass if I had to choose one. Although, the Mattheus Passion, or the Johannes Passion. Or the Brandenburg concerti... No, the organ Trio Sonatas. Some keyboard works perhaps... Ah shit, I don't know.... just pick any one

Not a bad place. But to appreciate Bach's greatness, do look past and beyond the keyboard works.

Beautiful voicing throughout the A Minor Fantasia and the Fugue. 

The D Minor Fugue has beautiful voicing and a bit more expression than the A Minor Fugue. There is more shaping, momentum and nuance in the dynamics throughout.It has a greater sense of interpretation and comfort, sounds more relaxed with more direction. The musicality flows from within. I think the A Minor Fugue will reach that level soon.

Curious that you find the D minor the better performed. I put far more thought and work in the A minor which is the greater work of the two. It's also more complicated and elaborate, quote a difficult fugue in fact. The A minor if far more straightforward and therefore maybe came off better, dunno. Anyway I am quite happy with both.

Very nice Chris.It sounds like Bach to me-I get this indescribable feeling in my gut and brain- that makes me want to succumb to a higher power--oh intense it is!.A little more effects perhaps would intensify even more-(tee hee?)
