Heard this pianist earlier today at Northern Arizona University; he gave a masterclass (in which one of my students played Liszt's 11th Rhapsody) and then gave a minirecital comprising a Taneyev Prelude and Fugue, Scriabin's Nocturne for the Left Hand, and the Rachmaninov Preludes in c minor, b minor and c# minor. He was outstanding, extraordinary tone color and power coupled to a sensitive musical personality. Really great Russian playing. He lives in the Los Angeles area and is worth going to hear if you have the oppurtunity. Here is a link to a recording...
