Earlier today, my six-year-old nephew managed to log on to my computer, enter system restore and completely destroy every single file in the user partition of my harddrive. Five years of music files, vaporized. Luckily (?) I backed-up all the important stuff and about a quarter of my mp3s. I'm not sure how this applies to any of you, I just needed to vent.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moral? Password.

i'll live...i guess

i know how you feel! earlier this year my comp crashed and deleted about 7 GB of music. Unluckily, I didn't have it all backed up...

this is why you have an "den/office" in your house with a keypad entry. and have a security password at the start-up of your computer. AND required to come out of the screen saver.

this is just as bad as having a kid take a sharpie marker to a piano with mahogany burl wood!

I hope you can recover.

I had a password, pressing F10 bypassed it!

I'm not mad at the kid. (the bastard)

perhaps you get a chinese character keyboard...that'd fool the brat!

and that must be really bad to lose 7GB of music. Oh man....if it makes you feel any better my computer decided to "lose" one of my large homework assignments.
