I heard about this site on the radio this morning while stuck in the daily traffic jam. It's supposed to find a tune in the net if you sing, whistle or tap a part of it, or type it in on a keyboard. Funny how much crap you can dig up this way ... But if you ever wonder 'what's this tune', give it a try.

Why don't you use the Dutch trains and your bicycle? (Assuming that you are really dutch and own a bicycle...because that would be like having a piano without the keys)

That's one thing that I loved about the Netherlands. It is possible to live without owning a car because everything is near (and no hills to pedal over! )

Sure. You go and tell that to the hundreds of thousand of commuters who clog up the roads each and every day again... As in the USA, few people here live without a car. 45 km may be 'near' for you, but I would not want to bike it every day. Yeah by train would be nice but one has to get to sa train station first !

One of the reasons I moved to the middle of nowhere. Heh, the people here complain about the "growth and traffic". They have no clue. I want to transport them to Boston's Storrow Drive at rush hour, that'll shut 'em up .

Seriously this is a huge global problem that no one seems to be able to do anything about, and the politicians just avoid the subject except for when it's "feel good" time (i.e. elections) There are more and more people with more and more needs and more stuff, having more children. Truly the paramount issue of our time, as well as the elephant in the kitchen that no one wants to acknowledge.

Don't know what to do myself....
