Elliott Carter, an American Composer who won the Pulitzer Prize twice passed away a few days ago. He was 103, and apparently wrote a lot of music even as a Centenarian

While not known ostensibly as a composer for the genre of Piano, Carter's last piece was in fact for the instrument, titled, "12 Short Epigrams for Piano."

On the main site, it is nice to see Carter has a page! John Anderson has recorded his Piano Sonata written circa 1945. His influences are Stravinsky and Copland among others. That Carter sounds like Copland maybe should not come as a shock as both studied with Nadia Boulanger in Paris

Does anybody have any recollection of hearing Carter's music? Has anybody played his Piano works?

I have his ballet, the Minotaur. Serial stuff: to serious for me.
