I'm embarrassed to ask this as I once knew the answer myself ... but would anyone happen to know the name of the piece being played in the clip (starting at 15 seconds)?

Thank you very much!

Cringeworthy indeed, but:

Memory is a funny thing. Oh yes, I recognise that piece, it's ... it's ... er ... damn, I can't remember what it's called or where it's from, but I definitely do know it.
It happens to many of us from time to time. It's like recognising a person's face but not remembering their name.
The other week I was trying to remember which Chopin waltz Mompou took as the basis for his Variations on a Theme of Chopin, and from which other Chopin piece the 10th variation, Evocation, quotes. I do meanwhile know both answers, but it didn't help that the "waltz" was actually a prelude. :)

No, what made me cringe was not the memory lapse aspect, but the fact that this piece was referred to as a "song". Grrr! I do hate it when everything has to be reduced to the level of pop culture terminology.

Where have you been lately, Rainer. Everything is a song these days. Get used to it ! And isn't it great that you can stuff 5000 songs on your mp3 player, and about a million on your hard drive ;-)

Hi Rainer,

Good point re: the use of "song" ... I hadn't really given it a lot of thought (obviously). I'm not obsessed with pop culture by any stretch of the imagination, but I suppose aspects of it can rub off unknowingly. At least I didn't repeat myself within the message and used "piece" instead! :) Thanks for pointing that out ... and in a way that was much kinder than it could have been. :D

Best wishes,

AJ

Very gracious of you to say so. Perhaps it would have been even kinder if I hadn't said anything at all. :)

No way ... I'd rather learn something even if it means embarrassing myself a bit in the process. I'm glad you said something!

SwanY, as in your earlier postings you don't make any sense at all, and you post inappropriate links. I warned you before about posting some online piano lessons link. What is it you want here ?
