Can someone please tell me if it's possible to download just the audio part of a youtube video? I can download a whole video, but all I want is the audio so I can put it on my ipod and also burn onto a CD. I tried doing this last night, but it didn't work.

Well, even though nobody will play my little game with me, I will still 'give up the goods' because of all the help and advice I have received here on the forum.

So...to extract the audio portion from a video and convert it to an mp3, here is what I learned:

First you have to download the whole video. I use RealPlayer Downloader since I have that already on my computer. Then locate the downloaded video in your RealPlayer library. Next, download and then install an audio extractor program like Pazera Free Audio Extractor. Just like the name says, it's free and here's the link:

http://www.pazera-software.com/products ... extractor/

or this one from cnet: http://download.cnet.com/Pazera-Free-Au ... tag=button

Open up the Pazera program and drag the video into the blank area. Then choose where you want to put the mp3, go to File - click 'convert checked files' and that's it! You can even change the bitrate, frequency, channels, and volume. Isn't that neat?

(Although again one of my sons said that I could be arrested for doing this. Come visit me in jail, okay?)

Yes, that looks like it'll be a lot easier. Thanks, Hye-Jin. I'm glad my Ipod holds a lot of tunes!

My pleasure, Monica :D My sister said this website works quite well, but at two among my first five tries I had difficulties with downloading the converted audio file. It took too long sometimes  I found through googling also that there are many similar sites, but some require you a monthly payment.

You can convert to an MP3 right from realplayer. no need to download any converters. and then just send it to your itunes.
best,
Nikolai
