Our long-time member, Julius, is heading off to Poland this week. Depending on circumstances, we may not see him on the forum for a while. Have a nice and safe trip, Juju! :)

Thanks Monmon!

Look at it this way: I might be thousands of miles away from you and Chi-town, but I will be sooooo much closer to Techneut, Andreas, Alfie, and others

Hi Juufa

I am so excited for you! I recall a while ago on the forum that you were debating whether to stay in USA or try the Polish thing. My vote was for you to go to Poland and see what happens. I am happy to see this. Best of luck!

Thank you Sara and Nicole.

I am leaving to see what happens, I could be back in a month and a half or ten months (depending on employment). Though I am leaving at a sensitive point in my family. My sister is getting married on the 10th of October, my father absolutely despises it and will say what he thinks which causes deep divisions and many tears to come to my mom and sister. My sister also has planned this wedding which a normal person to say "what the hell?' (i.e. have the wedding at a state park, 2 hours away--major logistical issues, and have the groom wear khakis and a white shirt, much to the nay of my old school Polish Catholic father). In short, my dad is angry and unnecessarily speaks his mind which causes my mom to be even more depressed and even more crying and which causes him to distance himself from my sister. And I am bounced around like a ball. F*** :x

If I'm assuming correctly (and if you even like it), you should have a fantastic time eating Blood Sausage (one of my very favorite foods).

Hi juffa,

Have a grand trip to Poland! First, find an Internet cafe to stay in touch with PS. Please give my regards to Lech Wallensa. Go easy on the dumplings, stuffed cabbage leaves, and Polish blood sausages. Oh, and especially the vodka!!! If you play Chopin's piano, give us a full report. Other than that, be on best behavior (for you), but have a blast!

David

Hi all!

Update: I dont like blood sausage, or charnina (blood soup). I cant touch another potato and my veins no longer pump blood but rather pure lard and butter! My grandma shows her love through my stomach and the amount of food she cooks.

No job yet. Still searching. I'll probably open up a self-employed tutoring operation until there is an opening in one the schools.

I also have to start the darn paper work for legal residency (3yr) so I can have time to assemble the documents to have an Polish-EU citizenship with my US citizenship. So much to do. I wonder how this will work out?

No pictures either. I am too busy to take pictures. But once I establish a routine and secure some legal status, then I will start snapping away.

And I will NOT play on Chopin's piano because I do not want to be stuffed into the trunk of a mafia car and wake up in the middle of some Russian province. I have to be careful because I am an American and that's no longer a good thing (Thanks Commisar Obama "messiah")

Hi juufa,

Figure it this way: They're going to lock YOU away anyhow. So, it's better to try out Chopin's piano sooner than later, while you still have the opportunity! On settling in, sounds like you're getting acclimated there. Great!

David

Hi juufa,

I forgot to ask. There are Polish glumkies. Has your grandmother made those for you yet?

David

No. the typical supper is: fatty meat, potatoes, cabbage, butter--lots of butter.
