Sorry to ask this again. I thought I knew what I was doing. I know how to quote another member using the 'quote' tab. But how do you get that white rectangle with just parts of a quote into your message? Like the way I see it in the Auditions page that Robert and Techneut were just doing.

For some reason this works different than in the old forum. You have to use
Code:
[quote]
instead of
Code:
[quote="pianolady"]

then it works like that. So you have do delete the "=pianolady".
Bit of a pain in the bottom really. Must see if I can find the cause and fix it.

That's okay. I think I've got the hang of it now. (sort of :) )
Thank you!

(if this doesn't work, I'm blaming my "wacko...wancko...wocky...(er, forgot what word you used) computer. :lol:

Strange as I have no problem quoting with usernames as in this post.

Very strange indeed. I had no problem here with the old forum but I definitely do now, no matter what browser. Have to dig around in the php code as this irritates me. Perhaps it's my wanky computer :lol:

Do you press the quote button or try to write quotes?

Code:
[quote="Chopin"]
Like this
[/quote]

Just writing works fine as well for me as below.

No matter how I do it, the result is always the same.
Now here's the nice thing... I have a dummy forum installed on my PC.
Had the same problem there. Then I started trying different things, like spaces and line breaks,
and somehow suddenly it worked ! And it works since then, by just using the 'Quote' button.
Tried the same on the real forum, but no luck....
I'm almost getting convinced it's my computer having its evil way with me :x

Welcome to the club. Now you know how I feel. :P

Oh, and I like that the preview and submit buttons are closer.
