Perhaps someone has already noticed the MusicReader link from the top of the forum and to the left of the main site? I decided to join their affiliate program which means that PS earns 30% from any software purchase coming from pianosociety and 4% from any hardware purchase.

What they are about? Well, no more page turning by hand. Just scan the score into the MusicReader and shift page with a pedal. Pretty handy things I believe. Anyone have it already?

I would love it if I didn't have to turn pages anymore. But I can see a problem with this kind of system if you have to use your damper and soft pedal on pieces and then you have to also hit the 'page turn' pedal. Plus, I'm not sure if you can show more than one page on the screen, which means you'd have to hit that pedal often. I think this is an interesting concept, though, and I'm going to check it out.

perhaps Musicreader should develop a pedal like device that can be mounted underneath the piano. So if both feet are being used on the piano dedals, all it would take is to raise the knee to hit the switch to turn the page.

It may be the case for you shorter people. But for average size men it is easy to hit the bottom of the piano without taking the foot off the pedal. (I did that when playing in recitals...damn foot couldn't stop shaking..after I finished slaughtering a Chopin Mazurka, my left knee hurt like hell from bouncing against the piano)

Anyways, it was just a thought.

That recital experience sounds a bit traumatic. If not playing by memory, but instead with the knee-operated PageTurner 6300, it could have been even more interesting, as the audience would have only been able to hear just a few bars of each page before suddenly your nervous knee would turn to a new page. It reminds me of a new-age doublebass piece (I forgot the title) where near the end of the piece, the doublebassist is instructed in the score to feign greater and greater frustration with his playing and eventually start throwing the loose pages on the ground, one after the other, in a fit.

I do not have any myself but it sounds very handy. My score situation is always a mess with printed A4s all over the place. I guess one should buy note books instead for print PDFs found on Internet .
