I have just spent five hours (no exaggeration - it's noon-time and I'm still in my pj's) in front of my computer trying to burn a CD for my Dad. I thought I knew how to do this stuff, but files kept getting rearranged, or the titles magically changed somehow. Or when I had the list ready to burn, a message would tell me I had too many minutes, but I didn't last time I tried. Three times files completely disappeared, and I had come onto this site to retrieve of copy of them (thank God they are here!) So...I finally did it. Made my first CD. This is so neat! Now I really know why all of you are so into sound quality so much. Mine isn't bad, but it's certainly no professional job. Still, this is a lot of fun (now that I know how to do it). Anyone else make their own CD?

Why don't you just send him the link to your bio page? C'mon pianolady, CD's are so 1990's

That figures. Just when I finally get the hang of this. (another two hours spent on this 'supposed-to-be-easy' project)

Yeah, I make CD's. I remember when CD tech was new; they're quickly becoming old-school. Still, I prefer CD's over SD cards, because of the price. Memory cards are expensive! I only use SD's to transfer recordings from my Edirol to my computer, or to move files from one computer to another. They're also rewritable, which can justify the $35 price tag.

I have burned many CD's, mainly for my mother who of course adores them never mind how bad I
play  It can hardly go wrong with iTunes, just select the tracks you want and click the 'Burn' button. But yes, you need to make sure in advance that it will fit on one CD, as iTunes will not warn you until the first CD is full. Maybe they've fixed that by now, I am not sure.

Your recordings are on itune? I've never been to that site, but my kids use it all the time.

iTunes, not itune.com. iTunes is Apple's free media player which is vastly superior to Windows Media Player. I use it to organize my own and other's recordings, add MP3 tags, and burn CD's.

Ohhhhh. I never knew that. I'll have to check it out, because I had quite a lot of confusion the other day on windows media player.

I have nothing BUT confusion with WMP. Go download iTunes and your misery will be over.

Yea,recording CDs is quite a thing.
I have done 4 official CDs: one for a children site, another for Naxos, then the two CDs of my recitals
The Naxos CD took almost a week to record, between rehearsals and actual recordings.
My own 2 CDs are available for purchase thru my site and thru my artist profile on the Piano Society
As far as making copies, sometimes, it is a pain with WMP.I may try Itunes actually

I've made several Cd's for my sister and brother. I use Windows Media Player, and, as some of you may know, I'm terrible with technology. However, I find WMP very simple to use.
