a new Sonata for violin and piano

Postby gprengel » Tue Mar 09, 2010 12:02 am

In the last weeks I composed a sonata for violin and piano in e-minor.
It would help me very much to hear from you what you think of it.

All 3 movements are built on the same main motif (e - b - a - c - b):

I. Allegro man non troppo

II. Arioso Andante dolente

III. Tarantella - Allegro con fuoco

hi. I listened to the first piece. I heard some great things, good tension, good harmonies. I thought I heard a lot of the piano playing along with the violin, and that sometimes gets on my nerves when composers do that, but overall, a fine job. Would like to hear it played on a acoustic grand and a Stradivarius violin. Oh yeah, Izthak Perlman would play the violin :D
