Hello. This is my first recording, and I'm only a teenager, so it might not be very good, but I'd appreciate any comments.

This is Chopin's cantabile, one of his less well known masterpieces. I tried to do it justice... If you have any tips I'd be happy to re-record it. Thanks.

Perhaps a bit more staccato at the end. Maybe you should lift up on the pedal so the staccato is emphasized. That's my two cents. But what do I know?

Thanks! As I've said, it's one of his less known pieces. It's not difficult, but then again it's often the simplest pieces that are the hardest to perfect. It's kind of like a lullaby, I think.

What a strange piece ! Never heard (of) it before, I guess It must be really juvenile.
Not badly played but perhaps you can release the pedal every now and then ? It swims all
over the place now (partly also because of the recording/acoustic and the sub-optimal piano tuning).

I always thought that maybe Chopin wrote this while trying to come up with his nocturne in E flat, it tends to follow the same form.

I have to agree with what Chris wrote, you should release and re-press the pedal each time the harmony changes in the left hand. Otherwise, the entire piece becomes mushed.

Notewise and expressionwise, I think you have it down pat. The end of the piece could be a bit more mellow (smorzando), and overall it seemed a bit slow to me, but I'm used to hearing it played a bit faster. That doesn't make it bad, though. Just change that pedal and you're good.

Toki, maybe I did play it slowly. My piano teacher always tells me to play it slow, so that's why I suppose!

This piece is so gentle and subtle, the piano really should be tuned, otherwise the delicate overtones are crushed beyond recognition by the bad temperament.
