This is a new recording of "Prélude, Fugue, Variation Op. 18" by César Franck in its original version for harmonium and piano. Most people are are familiar with the version for organ. The recording is a collaboration with Axel Wilberg (Harmonium).
We have recently played three concerts with late romantic music for harmonium and piano, a combination that was not too uncommon in the mid to late 19th century and we had a lot of fun performing it.
The recording is not absolutely perfect but I hope you will enjoy listening to it as much as we ejoyed playing it. I posted another recording of this piece the other week to the Works in Progress forum. This one is a tad faster and doesn't drag on as much as the other one. It's also more dynamic and the piano (a 1927 Bechstein salon grand) is in tune.
Maybe this is something for the Chamber Music page. In any case, I'm looking forward to your comments.
