Hello Marik,
I know you've been around PS for a little while, but I don't think we know anything about you, yet. Also, when was this recital?

I like Rachmaninov's music a lot - just have not had time to explore much of his music. However, I do know that these two pieces sound way too hard for me to play, but Wow! - you really played the heck out of them! Well done!!! And live too!! It's a shame the recording is only 56 kbps; there is some tinny/swimmy noise. It's not too bad though. Anyway, in order to become a PS member - can you submit one more piece for us - something contrasting and also very current?

Hi Monica,

I can personally vouch for Marik. He's an extraordinary artist! A great many of his recordings are incomparable in my opinion. He has a very large and appreciative audience, as he plays public recitals. My vote would be to waive the third recording requirement, as he has more than proven himself as one of the exceptional and very well-lauded pianists of our time. Having Marik's recordings here will enrich the listening experience of the Piano Society members. Certainly his superb musicianship and artistry have always inspired me, so I'm most pleased to give this testimonial in his behalf.

David

Ok, David - I trust you. I could tell Marik is a great player from listening to these two recordings; guess I was just on automatic pilot when I was asking for three recordings.

So hello again, Marik - if you would like to become a member of Piano Society, please post your bio and photo.

Bravo, Marik! Are you a professional pianist? It sure sounds like it! You display a surprising balance of exquisite musicianship and monumental technique. Your interpretation of Rachmaninov is truly outstanding in every aspect! I'd love to hear more of your music...

Yes, awe-inspiring pianism indeed ! If I'd have anything at all too nitpick is that you almost make it sound too smooth, maybe just a tad underplaying the drama and pain in the music. I think this stuff may simply be too easy for you....

Hi,

I wish you could hear Marik play the "Moment Musical" No. 6 in C! It's absolutely astonishing! I hope he might post it here.

these are impressive performances. they flow incredibly in the most difficult passages. as Chris said, they must be too easy for you. hehe

as Chris also said, I think no. 2 could be more dramatic. if I'm not mistaken, this score has huge sudden dynamic variations, and we can't hear much of them here. in no. 4, it can be my earphones, but I can't hear the melody "singing" enough.

any way, congratulations!
