Recorded today, here are two little transcriptions Rachmaninov made of songs by himself.

Rachmaninov - Daisies Op. 38 No.3
Rachmaninov - Lilacs Op.21 No. 5

Not quite as perfect as I'd wanted (bit of a kerfuffle in the Lilacs) but I hope they can be enjoyed nonetheless.

I love these two. Read through them once or twice but remember giving up somewhere in the middle of Lilacs when it got too hard. Good to hear these again by someone who can actually play them. Nice job.

Chicken
But really, these two are very deceptive indeed. I must re-record them as the LH is far too loud. Something my teacher pointed out earlier, and I thought I'd took care of it - but apparently not.

I've never played these before so I can't say much. They sounded very artistically played. I'm going to keep these in mind. Are there any more of these songs transcribed by Rachy?

Very musical interpretations and an enjoyable listening experience. I do not know the pieces well but it sounds like you catch the right Rach mood.

Thanks for the comments John and Robert. These are not as perfect as I hoped but I think they catch the spirit. As far as I know these are the only two transcriptions R. made of his own songs. I must admit I have never heard the originals, but they can hardly be better than these transcriptions (which R. was fond of playing himself).
