I know you're all sick and tired of the Orgelbüchlein ... but I just had to post this as it is my 100th Bach recording for Piano Society The title translates something like 'With peace and joy I go there'.

I had to listen to honor your accomplishment. I am surprised it is in a mostly minor key, as the title suggests a more 'peaceful' feeling.

And come to think of it, I am exactly halfway the Orgelbüchlein with this one. Things can only get better now

Congratulations from me too! It is an absolutely strong achievement, to have 100 high quality recordings (only from Bach, not to mention your other recordings!) in that short time nailed. My deepest respect for that.

Also I like that Orgelbüchlein item interpretation - nothing to niggle!

One important remark to the title: "Mit Fried und Freud ich fahr dahin" should be translated by "with peace and joy I pass away" (instead I go there). That is another meaning!!! It contains famous lyrics by Martin Luther, and that explains maybe Monica's confusion about the minor key of that composition.
For sure one understand those Orgelbüchlein items much better if one has a look at the underlying lyrics, hopefully they are included in every Edition and translated to English.

Well a large part of them are crap quality by today's standards So I should not be too proud of all these. I will be doing quite some re-recording.


Surprising, as there are one or two small slips down below. Quite negligible though I think.

Funny that "Alle Menschen mussen sterben" (All people must die") is in major key and quite a jolly little piece. You never know with Bach.

100 recordings of Bach! I do not even have 100 recordings up (just checked and it was 77) and I have been here since the start .

It has become a habit and for some reason, I seem to like it...well, the renaming of every title of all 500 pages and ID3 tagging 300-400 recordings that I did the last couple of weeks what actually not that fun. So, when it comes to mental power, you are way behind me Chris.
