Lovely performances ! What a great cycle this is, considering it was written piecemeal and on commission.
I like your unsentimental way with nr.1, a difficult piece to bring off convincingly (it's a bit too long really).
The white nights is beautiful (I love that piece, so full of innocent starry wonder). I would have liked the middle section to make a bit more impact, it seems to me like a short but exhilarating nightly troika ride (does one ride a troika during may nights ? I'm not sure...)
The Barcarole is also very well done. A couple of minor slips in the turbulent middle section, and should that last chord of the middle section not be an arpeggio ?
Again I am not too keen on the swimmy piano sound but that could just be me.
I hope you will complete the set as you are evidently totally at home in this repertoire.
