I never heard Liszt's Don Juan. But I imagine that since it is a Opera transcription it would be rather difficult...like the Wagner-Liszt "Tannhauser Oveture" . Because you must play all the parts of the Opera performance with your two hands. Just like Brahm's Hungarian dances for two hands which takes from the four hand arrangements--one hand plays one piano while the other hand plays the other piano.

I would assume that only accomplished and hardened pianists would consider playing Liszt's Operatic transcriptions.

Yes, and that makes a change from all the trivial stuff which you can easily play one-handed :P
Anyway. It is safe to assume Don Juan is difficult even if you have never heard it....

It's really difficult when I attempt to play it...
Many different kinds of techniques are required

in 'Horowitz in London' he says that it was the 'most difficult piece in the world'. Must mean something...

The piece is not just difficult, it is insanely difficult. But one of my favourite pieces, since I heard Valentina Lisitsa perform it for the first time. The sheets are available on sheetmusicarchive.net, see for yourself, it is one of the most difficult pieces I know of.
