F. David's "Bunte Reihe" (Liszt transcriptions)

Postby pianolady » Thu Jan 16, 2014 4:38 pm

I just heard a nice little piece on the radio—it’s a Liszt transcription of Ferdinand David’s “Bunte Reihe”. These are 24 pieces in four books originally written for violin and piano. I didn’t catch the number of the one I just heard and wonder if anyone knows much about this set? I’m a little surprised that we don’t have any on the site yet. Anyway, I’d like try some. Does anyone have any experience playing any of them, which book you like, or maybe specific pieces?
