 Post subject: looking for an impressive piece that is also very musical

not too long about five to ten minutes??

i have played not many pieces so far but heres what i played if you need a general understanding

mephisto waltz- liszt
ballade 1 - chopin
la campanella - liszt
polonaise op 53 - chopin
hungarian rhapsody no 6 - liszt

suggestions would be greatly appreciated

A few quick thoughts...

I notice you have already played some Chopin, but I find his etudes very musical and impressive.

Rachmaninoff might have exactly what you're looking for. Many of his preludes are stunningly beautiful... and stunningly difficult, too. Same for his op. 16 Moments Musicaux and other shorter pieces.

Dohnanyi's Rhapsody in C is an off-the-beaten-path selection that you might like, too.
