Preludes 4 & 7 by Robert Vandall

Postby Bruce Siegel » Wed Oct 27, 2010 9:58 pm

Hi folks,

Not sure if PS is interested in this music. Vandall is thought of as a composer of pedagogical pieces, and I wanted to record these two, in part, because I want my students to hear them. I don't think I've ever had an adult beginner who wasn't in love with them.

But the fact is—I really enjoy playing these pieces, too. So here they are, take 'em or leave 'em.

A side note: I put up a YouTube video of number 7. I'm just learning how to videotape my playing, and was overjoyed because I thought everything went extremely well. Til I took a closer look—the tension in my face is palpable, and I'm jutting out my lower jaw the whole time. Hard for me to look at it, and I'll probably take it down.

I'm reminded of one teacher who told me that she had a student who would, completely unaware of it, stick out her tongue during entire performances.

Woops! I see I just posted this in the wrong forum! Have to do it all over again.
