I must be crazy to do this. (at least I can take it down whenever I want to)

I just bought myself a new camcorder the other day. This is my first time using it. There are about a million settings and things like that, which I haven't figured out yet, so this may be fuzzy, or too small, too big, etc...

The piece is the first Excursions piece by Barber. It's hard for me and still not ready to record, but I'll keep working at it.

And whoever said that television adds 10 pounds to a person is wrong. It's 20 pounds - argh! :x

Oh well...have a good laugh at my expense. :)

(if this even works - let me know if you can't open the file. I don't really know what I'm doing)

30? Just joking!

Don't worry about looking perfect, as the first 30 seconds show this. If this is your house, then it looks like a fancy hotel lobby. The wing-back chair, fo' sho' looks like a piece in a fancy hotel lounge.

Nice playing. Don't care too much for the music. But it is interesting.

p.s. Do you normally wear your shoes in the house? God forbid if you walk in my house--shoes, boots, or any footwear must come off. It just irks me.

I was expecting to see you wearing your pyjamas. Maybe soft flannel and Barber don't mix? This is a cool piece and it is really coming along.

Your Christmas tree looks really great -- HUGE!

If that video added 20 pounds to you, you must be one of those sick anorexic-looking women.

Seems like there are only a couple of spots to iron out - won't be long, now. ;)

hahaha. I was wearing them, but threw on some jeans instead. Should have left my pink furry slippers on, though.

Julius - I never said I was 30-something.

Next time I'll show you my other tree. It's downstairs - I call it the psychedlic tree because it is fiber optic and changes colors. Kind of puts you into a trance.

But you have two children whom are in their mid-teen years. I did the math. But then graciously rounded the number so as not to insult a woman and her age

What, is there some sort of set age at which women have children?

Wow.

Nice tree. Nice room. Nice piano.

Awesome playing!!! (It certianly didn't look like it was hard for you to play!)

Although... the piece itself is a little... not my style. I liked the Barber nocturne... because although it was a modernist piece, it was still classical feeling. This felt... different.

But your interpretation was very good! It actually makes up for the fact that I normally wouldn't like the piece!

Now the video has been converted... and it's sitting on my ipod... and I'm gonna show it to my friends at school, and I say "SEE!!! Isn't she amazing?!?!"
Then they will all visit the site to download you...

And everyone will forget about little old me. (At least, until my next planned audition... I have a list of pieces I want to record, but I don't want to upload them all seperatly. I want to throw all of them at you at once!)

GREAT JOB!!!
And yes... do a recording in your pajamas. It would be sooooo awesome! :D

No, but if her kids are, say, 13 and 15 then she needs to be older than 34. That would mean that her first child was born when she was 19. Young. So I thought that the average age of a woman giving birth to a first child is around 25. Meaning that her true age is probably higher than 34.

Then considering how women are, I rounded down to give a happy number :D

Nice show and dance, with the hair, rings, and earrings.

Well played too, except from the restarts. Strange this is your kind of music. Despite loving Barber's symphonic output and (with some reservations) his piano oeuvre, I can't warm much to these Excursions, or in any case this one in particular. Seems like it is trying to be jazzy and/or humorous but falling short on both sides. It has its catchy bits though.

Good job on the first camcorder try.

I tried to edit out the beginning and end but it's hard to do. It's different from editing just audio files. This one took me all day because I kept deleting too much or not enough, so I gave up.

Julius - you are no where close. But that's ok, because I'm not telling.

Terez - Have you ever played this piece? It's kind of weird, but I played it better last week. This week my fingers are not working right together and having a hard time keeping up with the pulse. I know...keep practicing.

Chris M - thanks, but you're scaring me a little. :)

PS - the stalking is SO back on! :P

If only I had a vidcam, and a hot dress, I'd make that video for you Nathan. I do indeed have only a little cleavage these days
