It is not an obligation, but if you have blood in your veins.......
the "Weber Contest" wait your contribution.
Between 16 and 20 of July the brave pianists on this site will record and upload their version
of the "Weber's last thought".
Was it written by Carl Maria von Weber? It's an enigma, but one thing is sure: this is a very
demanding piece, and only a "virtuoso" pianist can hope to play it decently.
A lot of courage and of faith (about the author, for example), and send your recording!
It is not a competition (not for the first prize; now I have heard my recording and I think it will
be out of classification :D  ), but a way to compare different choices and to reflect about interpretation.

All best,
Sandro.

P.S.

I've already heard this piece, as "music box" and as an "encore" of a pianist.

Am I missing something here? It seems like not so difficult a piece. Maybe I play it nowhere near the way it is supposed to go. Well....time will tell.

Yes sir, and yes Monica.
But....it's not easy to animate a so small and shy piece.
If not a "virtuoso" in common sense, the pianist must be a "virtuoso" of colours and
dynamic/timbric/phrasing. This IMHO, obvious.

All best,
Sandro

Are you referring to yourself or to the others?

I need to ask a favor. I have to go out of town late Sunday through Friday of next week, so I am wondering if I can email my Weber recording file to someone, and then you can submit my file for me anytime next week. I still want to be in this game (so you can laugh at my horrendous rendition) and I can then listen to all the other recordings when I get back home (probably Friday). Is this possible?

But send it when you will ! If you'll send by e-mail to my sandrieris@libero.it ther are some risks:
I could 1) to hear it and to calibrate my version to create a copy.
2) to edit it with one of that weird reverbs I know so well......or to insert some incredible mistakes...
3) to substitute your file with mine . And then there will be only your words against mine,
and I have already called my attorney.

In your suits, I'll prefer to send it directly to the site...... :D

All best,
Sandro

hahaha - very funny, Sandro.

And thank you, but I already got something lined up. Hopefully, the other person doesn't read this and get some ideas.
