Felix Gaehtgens was born in 1969 and started playing the piano at the age of six. Initially he was taught by his father, who had studied to become a cellist but ended up as an art historian instead. Later on, Felix was instructed by pianist and composer Gabriela Moyseowicz in Berlin, and by Bruce Sutherland in Los Angeles. Felix works as an IT analyst, has lived in many places, and currently spends most of his time in Lisbon, where he plays on 1904 Steinway grand from his great-great-grandfather and Brussels, where he tries to improve his skills on a Yamaha P-140.
