Jan Bertram

I was born in 1980 in Braunschweig (Germany) and had piano lessons from the age of six. At the age of about 17 I decided to study piano more seriously, and so after I finished school and the german Zivildienst (which you have to do if you don't want to spend a year as a soldier) I started to study to be a music teacher in Munich. After two years, I wanted to study piano even more seriously, and so I went to Nuremberg to study piano. After I passed my exam in 2006 I returned to Munich to finish my studies as a music teacher, and that's what I'm still doing right now.
I like to make music together with other people, and so I worked on a lot of chamber music and 19th-century songs, not only solo works. That's also one of the reasons why I play in a group named "Zizal". We do a mix of World, Klezmer, and Jazz Music. (http://www.zizal.de)
